Explore the MV Careers Education Curriculum

According to the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Future of Jobs Report 2025, the global job market is set to transform dramatically with 170 million new jobs expected by 2030, yet 92 million jobs displaced, and 39% of existing skills becoming outdated.

Our career education curriculum is designed to respond to this shift equipping students with the skills they’ll need to thrive in the new economy, aligned with global benchmarks and real-world workforce forecasts.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #3

Middle School

Students begin understanding themselves, careers, and their role in a sustainable world.

The curriculum focuses on introducing students to begin understanding themselves, their careers, and their role in a sustainable world.

Self-discovery activities such as learning one's values, identifying how academic strengths translate into the workplace, and learning how one's hobbies can become sustainable careers.

The concept of work is introduced alongside global issues. The UN SDGs and the WEF Job Report are introduced to students using age-appropriate language to build learning and discussions that help students explore future work.

Lower Secondary School

The curriculum introduces students to mapping career pathways, with a focus on impact and responsibility. Career clusters, career choices, global career impacts, social responsibility, and a deep dive into the world of entrepreneurship as a sustainable career strategy. The concept of work expands beyond individual choices and helps students recognize the interconnections between personal decisions and global responsibilities.

Building on the foundational exploration of work, careers, and global issues introduced in middle school, students in lower secondary begin to engage with these concepts in greater depth and complexity. Global issues and the UN SDGs are explored in more nuanced ways, encouraging students to examine how emerging industries, technological change, and evolving work trends such as those highlighted in the WEF Future of Jobs report shape opportunities and responsibilities in the workforce.

Learning moves from reflection and discussion toward critical thinking, problem-solving, and project-based applications, with students beginning to plan actionable steps for their future development while considering how their choices contribute to sustainable and equitable outcomes.

Upper Secondary School

At this stage, the focus shifts to post-secondary choices and employability readiness, helping students make informed decisions that connect their academic subjects, personal strengths, and potential career paths.

Students consolidate learnings from earlier phases of schooling through reflective exercises, reviewing how their interests, skills, and understanding of global issues have evolved over time. They explore specific career clusters in depth, evaluating how their skills and coursework align with professional requirements, while considering sustainability, ethical responsibilities, and geographic work preferences.

Practical experiences such as internships, mentorships, and project-based work are introduced to allow students to develop workplace skills, refine professional portfolios, and apply real-world career planning.

By combining reflection with action, this curriculum phase transforms earlier exploration into concrete decision-making, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and perspective needed to transition successfully into further education or the workforce while remaining globally aware and socially responsible.
